The Tangled Threads That Bind Us (Help Network The)

Kal Korpi's help network causes constant stress. For one thing, it's growing too fast. Kal's best recruit keeps finding people who've eluded history's most lethal virus. Also, his newest assistant faces hostility from clients who prefer Kal. A third colleague, Kal's girlfriend, splits time between network duties and helping to raise his newborn daughter - a task she would enjoy more if the baby's mother wasn't Kal's ex, who lives next door. For Kal, the tension remains manageable until resources inexplicably vanish. Without abundant food and supplies, sustaining vulnerable clients becomes a challenge. But who's to blame? Has Kal made a careless oversight, or is somebody sabotaging his network? Also, who are the mysterious men seeking out Kal to pledge their help? If they're spies from the corrupt powers to the south, trusting them might be dangerous. Regardless, one man's troubled past resurrects demons Kal thought he'd put to rest. Overcoming his guilt may no longer be possible.
