The nerve growth factor is a member of neurotrophins. It is produced by neural and non-neural cells. Particularly, the cells of the innate and adaptive immune systems are able to secrete nerve growth factor. Its role is essential in the balance between cell survival and apoptosis. This book aims to solve recent challenges posed by stress-initiated diseases, where the increased sympathoadrenal activity induced inflammatory and immuno-endocrine events.
